Malaimé Soleil presents Tempête, a first album created looking through a storm of abrupt changes in a person’s life. The band’s sound stands out for its oxymoronic quality, juxtaposing the weight of troubles with childish joy. Stylistically, the music comes off as alternative pop-rock, but after a closer listen you begin to hear the influences of Quebec trad in the voice, desert blues in the guitar, Latin music in the legs, and 80s synthesizers and grooves that echo the 70s, all of which gives us Tempête.
