Permitted and prohibited objects

Speed up your entrance on site! Leave your bags and strollers at the checkroom, or better, at home or in the car.

FOR YOUR SAFETY – EVERYONE IS SUBJECT TO SEARCH

To speed up the entrance on site, the crowd will be split in three lines : 

  • empty-handed people
  • search of strollers and mobility-impaired people
  • Search of backpacks

Upon request, the search can be conducted by a male or female agent, depending on your comfort level.

The Festival reserves the right, in certain situations, to conduct body searches using a magnetic detector.


  • Dangerous items that could cause injury

    Prohibited : 

    • Bladed weapons and blunt objects
    • Studded accessories and bullet items (e.g., belts)
    • Mechanical or industrial chains (e.g., wallet chains)
    • Fireworks or firecrackers
    • Any object that could pose a safety risk to other spectators
    • Laser pointers
  • Food and beverages

    Permitted :

    • Light snacks (sandwiches, fruit, granola bars)
    • Empty plastic (rigid or non-rigid or stainless-stee bottle, or empty hydration pack (1 liter or less)

    Prohibited :

    • Glass containers
    • Liquids
  • Stroller

    Permitted :

    Plains of Abraham and Place George-V :

    • Umbrella stroller with a maximum size of 40 cm W x 81 cm D x 94 cm H (16 in x 32 in x 37 in)

    Size check stations will be available at the entrances to the Plains of Abraham and Place George-V. If the open stroller fits within the template, it is considered compliant. Strollers exceeding this size may be left at the coat check. Cost: $5.

    Place de l’Assemblée-Nationale and Place D’Youville :

    • All other types of strollers are permitted

    Prohibited :

    Plains of Abraham and Place George-V :

    • Any stroller other than an umbrella stroller
    • Umbrella stroller larger than 40 cm W x 81 cm D x 94 cm H (16 in x 32 in x 37 in)
  • Bulky items

    Permitted : 

    • Seat cushions with no frame or with plastic framing

    Prohibited : 

    • Motorcycle or bicycle helmets. Bicycle helmets can be stored for free at the checkroom!
    • Portable or folding chairs, and seat cushions with RIGID framing
    • Coolers
    • Large camping-style backpacks with or without metal frames
    • Any item intended for sale or promotion without written and signed authorization from the Festival
    • Umbrellas
    • Rigid foldable plastic strollers (single or double)
    • Tents
  • Liquids, substances, and containers

    Permitted : 

    • Sunscreen – maximum 250 ml format
    • Over-the-counter medications allowed in small quantities (e.g., Tylenol, Advil)
    • Prescription medication with a clearly labeled container

    Prohibited : 

    • Aerosol cans
    • Bottles over 1 liter
    • Glass containers
    • Recreational drugs, whether legal or illegal, and any related accessories
    • Liquids, including hand sanitizer
    • Wax pen–style vape
  • Sports, game, or leisure items

    Prohibited : 

    • Sticks, balls, and all types of sports balls
    • Musical instruments
    • Water toys, INCLUDING water guns and inflatables
      (e.g., inflatable rafts, pool rings)
    • Skateboards and inline skates
  • Professional equipment

    Prohibited : 

    • Selfie sticks
    • Drones
    • Professional photo and video equipment (professional = interchangeable lenses)
    • Megaphones
    • Camera stands
    • Tripods or similar items
  • Animals

    Permitted : 

    Guide or service dogs with proof

    Prohibited : 

    Animals
