Permitted and prohibited objects

Speed up your entrance on site! Leave your bags and strollers at the checkroom, or better, at home or in the car.

ALL BAGS WILL BE SEARCHED.

To speed up the entrance on site, the crowd will be split in three lines : 

  • empty-handed people
  • search of strollers and mobility-impaired people
  • Search of backpacks

The Festival also reserves the right to conduct, in certains situations, a body search or a search using a magnetic detector.

PERMITTED OBJECTS

  • Beach towel
  • Binoculars
  • Disposable or non-professional camera (professional = interchangeable lenses)
  • Empty plastic (rigid or non-rigid) or stainless-steel bottle, or empty hydration pack (1 liter or less)
  • Guide dog or assistance dog with proof
  • Light meal (Ex : sandwich, granola bar, fruit) in a soft container
  • Non-professional digital camera (professional = interchangeable lenses)
  • Plastic baby bottle or child's juice cup
  • Prescription medication in its labeled container
  • Seat pad with backrest without frames or with plastic frames
  • Small backpack/purse
  • Sunscreen (maximum size 250 ml)
  • Umbrella stroller for children (Recommended size : 40.6 cm W x 69.8 cm D x 90.2 cm H (16 in x 27.5 in x 35.5 in))

PROHIBITED OBJECTS

  • Accessories with studs and bullet casings
  • Animal
  • Audio recorder with or without a microphone
  • Bladed weapon and blunt object
  • Camera tripod, selfie stick, or similar items
  • Can
  • Cooler
  • Fireworks or firecrackers
  • Glass bottle and container
  • Inflatable object
  • Large camping-style backpack
  • Large-style stroller, cargo model and cart
  • Laser pointer
  • Legal or illegal recreational drug and related accessories
  • Liquid beverage – Note that free water refill stations are located on the Plains of Abraham and at Parc de la Francophonie
  • Megaphone
  • Motorcycle helmet
  • Bicycle helmet (Free check at our checkroom)
  • Musical instrument
  • Object intended for sale/promotion without written and signed permission from the FEQ
  • Object that could pose a safety risk to other spectators
  • Portable or folding chair (camping chair) and cushion with metal frames
  • Skateboard and rollerblade
  • Stick, ball, any type of ball
  • Tent
  • Umbrella
  • Video equipment and professional camera (professional = interchangeable lenses)
  • Water pistol

CHECKROOMS

Four checkrooms are available to leave objects that are prohibited on site.

Exception: weapons, alcohol, drugs and their by-products, animals, fireworks and firecrackers.

Bags will be searched before they're accepted at the checkroom.

Inside the building

Cost : $5 per person.
Cash only.

Exception: Bicycle helmets are accepted free of charge in our checkrooms.

LOST OBJECTS

Lost objects will be kept during 48 hours at the dedicated booth. The booth is located on Wilfrid-Laurier Avenue in front of The Armoury.

Opening hours :

  • Monday to Friday : noon to midnight
  • Saturday and Sunday : 10 a.m. to midnight

It will then be possible to pick them up at the Festival d’été de Québec offices located at 683, rue St-Joseph Est, bureau 150, Québec (Québec) G1K 3C1.

-> Objects like umbrellas ans water bottles will be kept for 30 days.

-> More valuable objects (keys, phones, etc.) for 90 days.

Unclaimed objects will then be donated to different Quebec City organisms.
