MaÏa Barouh

A singer, flautist, author, composer and arranger of French-Japanese descent, Maïa Barouh’s distinctive sound world reveals her great musical freedom. She mixes traditional Japanese singing (what she calls ‘Nippon blues’) with electro, pop and rap, and French and Japanese lyrics.

What makes her modern approach remarkable is the ability to mix her ancestral musical heritage with current sounds, and to connect these two cultures with the energy of a Shaman punk!
