Born in Niger and raised in Iferouane on the edge of the Ténéré Desert, Boubé was immersed early in Tuareg music, internationally known as “desert blues.” A self-taught musician, he began touring at 13 and later collaborated with acclaimed artists such as Bombino and Mdou Moctar. A gifted guitarist, drummer, and singer-songwriter, he released his debut album Issaktan in 2023, blending meditative and rock-infused sounds inspired by peace and travel. Now living in Montreal he was awarded at the 2024 Syli d’Or and recipient of the Afropop Prize, Boubé is experiencing a rapid and promising rise.
