Baby Volcano
Prix FEQ - Paléo
A Swiss-Guatemalan performance artist and musician, Baby Volcano’s words and voice navigate between gentleness, warmth and rage, singing in French and Spanish to express what inhabits her body. Truly born for the stage, her shows are performative, energetic and magnetic. A first EP, Síndrome Premenstrual, takes listeners through styles that include hip hop, trap, electronic and Latin music.
Some have described the first EP by Baby Volcano as Witch Pop, electronic witchcraft music that originates from a warm and dark universe, where the artist explores her body, with each song referring to a different body part.
This show is presented as part of a collaboration between the Paléo Festival and the FEQ. The FEQ welcomes Swiss artist Baby Volcano, while Ariane Roy, recipient of the 2023 Espoir FEQ, will perform in July in Nyon, Switzerland.
