Aysanabee

While his album Watin tells the story of his grandfather's forced time spent in a residential school for the indigenous, this multi-instrumentalist from the Sandy Lake First Nation community in Ontario, draws inspiration from indie-rock, pop and soul-gospel to create music that aims to share stories centered on the family and his own experiences. Winner of three awards at the Summer Solstice Indigenous Awards, he was also honoured as the Best New Touring Artist at the Canadian Live Music Awards.
