ALIAS

Multi-instrumentalist, composer, director, dilettante, polymath: Emmanuel Alias is all this, in addition to steering ALIAS, a sprawling and polymorphous rock project where he experiments and creates in a spirited and DIY way, performing rock inspired by flashes of psych, dance-punk and hip-hop, all featuring twisted and hallucinatory themes.

First launching himself with the EP It’s Not Funny So Stop Smilin’ in 2021, he returned the following year with the concept album Jozef. Through all of this, he also composed music for the series Big Little Lies and Sharp Objects (both on HBO), and for a number of Cirque du Soleil productions, as well as serving as producer and musical director for Musique Nomade. His second album, EMBRACE CHAOS, sees him swap almost all the guitars for synths, and will be released in 2024 on Simone Records.
