No Joy
No Joy (Jasamine White-Gluz) and Fire-Toolz joined forces in secluded, woodsy retreats to create Bugland, an album both limitless and freeing. Drawing from diverse influences, it merges shoegaze, experimental textures, and electronic landscapes, balancing chaos and cohesion. Long drives through rural highways shaped the mixes, and tracks like “Jelly Meadow Bright” blend Stooges-like saxophone with chill, buoyant atmospheres. Bugland resists easy categorization, living comfortably between Boards of Canada, Autechre, and Zooropa-inspired sounds. It marks White-Gluz’s evolution, showcasing her skill in channeling diverse tastes into something innovative, immersive, and unexpectedly harmonious.
