Sandveiss

Founded in Québec City in 2011, SANDVEISS is a Heavy Rock band delivering music that is both heavy and melodic, reminiscent of Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Tool, and Mastodon. Their debut album Scream Queen, released in 2013 and reissued in 2014 under the Sexy Sloth label, won Heavy Album of the Year at the 2015 GAMIQ Awards. That same summer, SANDVEISS performed on the Plains of Abraham during the FEQ (opening for High on Fire and Megadeth), as well as at the Heavy Montréal festival.

In 2016, the band released a 7" vinyl EP (Save Us All, nominated at the GAMIQ) and toured in Sweden. After a few lineup changes and a productive writing period, SANDVEISS returned in 2019 with a second album. Saboteur is heavy, catchy, and cathartic.

Their third album, Standing in the Fire, was released on October 11, 2024. In this record, SANDVEISS tackles themes such as division, growing polarization, and the toxicity of social media, which they see as a reflection of a sick society. The result is a powerful and honest album, blending musical intensity with lyrical depth.
