Belgian visual artist and songwriter Jan Verstraeten knows better than anyone how to stimulate the imagination in the cinematic aesthetics of his music and unusual videos. His first album, Violent Disco, plunges the listener into nuanced pop that is semi-orchestral, semi-intimate, a little chaotic, and coloured by shades of jazz, trip hop and soul.
