Musical style

What started out as a tribute to legendary instrumental rock guitarist Takeshi "Terry" Terauchi in 2017, quickly grew into a full-fledged band with a musical style of their own. TEKE::TEKE is a 6-piece group from Montreal that play eleki, a type of surf rock from Japan that combines traditional instruments, flute and trombone, layered with deliciously fuzzy guitars and backed by a solid rhythm section, all flavoured with Japanese lyrics. With the EP Jikaku (2018) and full album Shirushi (2021) to their name, TEKE::TEKE is a fun psychedelic trip that takes punk detours on its way to being irresistibly modern.
