Musical style
Rock Progressif

A rock band formed in Toronto in the mid-70s whose music features the synthesizer, earned instant and lasting success in Europe due to their progressive style. By the end of 1982 they had performed in several other European countries as well as the United States, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. In the image of its name, Saga's performances are "epic" and involve dramatic use of lighting, sound and the computer. Silent Knights, World's Apart and Heads or Tales have sold over 50,000 copies in Canada, and their concert recording In Transit has exceeded 100,000 copies. World's Apart's international sales have surpassed a million. Other notable titles from Saga include "Scratching the Surface" and "What Do I Know?”. Saga won the Juno Award in 1981 for most promising group.
