Arriving with an arsenal of powerful and inspiring songs, this adopted Montrealer has reinvented herself over the years, more recently with the help of producer Pierre Marchand, who has brought a more pop sound to Martha Wainwright’s folk-rock with jazz influences. Her latest album, Love Will Be Reborn, is inspired by the great traditions of popular English song, at times adorned with country, soul, even blues flourishes. The daughter of Kate McGarrigle and Loudon Wainwright III, and sister of Rufus, continues to fly high.
